He told investigators that Rogers-Hughes was "a big girl" and he found her
"very manipulative".
The pair were said to have previously known to each other because when
Rogers-Hughes had been a tenant of his.
They met again when he was referred to north-west Shropshire's Community
Mental Health Team in May 2007, when Rogers-Hughes was said to be 'very
flirty' on special walks organised for patients.
They have since blamed each other for instigating their subsequent
relationship.
Rogers-Hughes, from Oswestry, resigned from the South Staffordshire and
Shropshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust after the patient revealed
details to fellow psychiatric nurse Bernie Housman.
He tearfully told her about the fling and said he 'felt vulnerable, abused and
manipulated', it was said.
When interviewed by NHS investigators, Rogers-Hughes is said to have openly
admitted the affair but insisted the relationship had been consensual and
that she only went to the patient's home because he asked her.
